The Nigel Hall Story
Early Days
Nigel Hall Menswear started nearly 25 years ago on a small stall at London’s Camden Market. Back then Camden was the place to hang out on a Sunday. The creative milieu of vintage stalls, fashion designers, jewellers and artists was the perfect place to find inspiration.
Soon after we had moved to ‘Hyper Hyper’, Kensington High Street where Nigel Hall Menswear sat side-by-side with other aspiring designers. Such was our success that soon we had our very own store, adjacent to the Blue Bird Garage on the King’s Road.
International Recognition
A successful showing at menswear trade show ‘Shem’ in Paris led to our growing collection being ordered by many great boutiques, including the internationally known Harvey Nichols store in Knightsbridge.
This recognition meant that within just a few years, Nigel Hall Menswear expanded from a small store in Shorts Garden Covent Garden to taking a lease on bigger premises on Covent Garden’s Floral Street, where the Nigel Hall flagship store remains to this day.
Nigel Hall Today
25 years on from our first stall, we still work with many of our original fabric and yarn mills in Europe and in particular Italy, who we believe to be the world leaders in fabric design.
The brand has grown across London with stores in Soho, Islington, Spitalfields and a new store in Manchester. This growth has been thanks to word of mouth from our loyal customers and the people who have visited our boutiques and concessions.
The Nigel Hall Style
The Nigel Hall Menswear collection has a strong, continental feel to it, thanks to the influence of the fabric and yarn mills we use. We fuse this with our passion for vintage style, in particular the 50’s and 60’s.
During the design process, we pay attention to our English way of dressing. Influences come from all generations. Walk along any beach promenade and you are sure to see some dapper gent who has inspired the vintage style adopted by the young guys on the streets of today. This is the Nigel Hall style.
